Brookings is located in east central South Dakota on Interstate I-29 with an population of 18,000, and another 8,000 university students.  Brookings is the home of South Dakota State University which has an enrollment of 11,000, and provides a variety of cultural and educational opportunities for residents as well as visitors. Brookings is a clean, safe and friendly place to live, whether raising a family or retiring.
