Pediatric Surgeon needed to join established practice

Immediate need for a BC/BE Pediatric Surgeon to join an established practice at Huntsville Hospital.  Patients are 0-18 years old and are primarily seen for chest and abdominal conditions. Current surgeon did over 700 cases last year and is on target to exceed that number this year!

Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children is expanding our medical staff and looking for a BC/BE Pediatric Surgeon. Huntsville Hospital is:

With 881 licensed acute care beds, Huntsville Hospital is one of the largest locally owned not-for-profit hospitals in the nation and the second largest health care system in Alabama. As a teaching facility for the University of Alabama-Birmingham’s School of Medicine, Huntsville Hospital helps train family physicians.  There is no surgical residency, although Pediatric Surgery is a favorite among the UAB medical students.  In addition, the hospital serves as a participant in more than 100 national drug research projects.

 

Leading our health care team is or medical staff of more than 600 highly trained physicians who are supported by 5,000 hospital employees, including nearly 2,000 nurses.  Our facilities include Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children, an outpatient Medical Mall, Madison Medical Park, Madison Urgent Care, and a 70-bed rehabilitation hospital located on our campus.

 

Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children is a stand-alone facility dedicated to caring for women, infants, children, and adolescents.  The hospital offers the region’s most comprehensive and experienced maternal and child health programs.  It was established in 2002 and is rated in the Top 50 Pediatric Programs in the nation, and has partnered as a  St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital affiliated Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic.  We average around 4,000 births a year and around 700 admissions.
