AVERA HAND COUNTY CLINIC
Established in the medical practice for 40 years, the Avera Hand County Clinic consists of Dr. Joel Huber, Dr. Stephan Schroeder, Dr. Michelle Turner, Pauline Bevers, PA-C and Tom Miner, PA-C. The physicians and their physician assistants joined the Avera McKennan primary care network in November 2005.
AVERA HAND COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
Adjacent to the Avera Hand County Clinic, the hospital has 25 beds. Services offered at the hospital are laboratory, radiology, respiratory, physical and occupational therapy, home health, hospice, public health and assisted living, as well as numerous other services. Physician outreach services include audiology, cardiology, ENT, general surgery, ophthalmology, and orthopedics. Also, telemedicine has offered disease specialists, allergy and dermatology services.
COMMUNITY
Miller is located in central South Dakota. Situated on Highway 14 & 45, Miller boasts a main street of businesses. Some examples include farm and ranch supplies, grocery, clothing, hardware, coffee shops, photo shops, pharmacy, equipment and vehicle sales, etc. The economic base of the community is largely agricultural, however a strong economic development office has recently introduced DataTrac, a medical records company and is strongly pursuing several other developments.
