St. David's Medical Center has a long tradition of providing excellent women's healthcare services to the Austin community.  It maintains one of the highest birth volumes in the region and has recently refurbished and expanded the 50 bed NICU.  The health resource center, which is located on the hospital campus, houses the only digital mammography unit in Austin and provides stereotactic biopsies and bone density testing.  Additionally, the center is home to the Komen Austin organization and the Breast Cancer Resource Center.  It is staffed with friendly, knowledgeable individuals who take extra care and time with the patients arriving there for testing and consultations.
