PrimeCare Physician Network, a 30 plus physician multi-specialty group, has a need for an Internal Medicine physician. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, community minded and Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine. This traditional opportunity will start as a mix of out-patient office primary care and some in-patient work; call will be shared at 1:5. A Hospitalist program is in the works and is anticipated to be implemented in late 2009; at which point this can be an out-patient only practice. Open Door BMH Health Center is a federally qualified Health Center targeting health services to the uninsured and underinsured population of East Central Indiana. Each physician is a team leader for a care team composed of a mid-level practitioner, LPN, and three medical assistants. Every two care teams share a nurse educator, and additional staff at disposal to provide care to the patient including a nutritionist, behavioral health specialist, health educator and social worker. Behavioral health services are available on-site to assist the physician in providing care to patients with these needs. Likewise, dental services, pharmaceutical assistance and laboratory assistance are available on-site. Open Door utilizes the GE Centricity Electronic Health Record. Frequent diagnosis would focus on chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, obesity and depression. Frequent procedures include ear wax removal, asthma treatments, incision/drainage, foreign body removal, simple wound debridment, pelvic exams, colposcopies, KOH smears and simple laceration repair. Professional services would include administrative, educational, direct patient care, and a shared telephone call.
As a federally qualified health center, candidates would be eligible for application to the National Health Service Corp. A physician could receive as much as $20,000 for loan reimbursement per year for up to seven years for loan repayment!
