Sweetwater County offers year-round recreational opportunities and magnificent vista viewing. Located in a high plains desert, Rock Springs is just a two-hour drive from the Jim Bridger Wilderness, on the one hand, and the world-class fishing of the Flaming Gorge Reservoir on the other. A mere 30 minutes away lay the largest active sand dunes in the United States. Wildlife abounds. Antelope are frequently seen near the hospital. Wild horses run in herds just a few miles away. Within the region are elk and deer, and on occasion big horn sheep are sighted. Within short driving distances - unimpeded by traffic lights are Jackson Hole, the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone National Park, Park City, Steamboat Springs, and Salt Lake City.
Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County is in the preliminary stages of a $50 million dollar expansion, and is a great place to work. There is little to no managed healthcare, and a low Medicare, Medicaid, and uninsured population, with commercial insurance being the norm. In addition, it’s important to note that Wyoming does not have state income tax.
Consider coming to Rock Springs for a visit. You may fall in love with the area, and decide to stay!
