Woodland is a perfect place to call home, with a growing population of over 51,000 and is close to Sacramento, Davis, San Francisco, Napa and Lake Tahoe. You'll find affordable real estate, excellent school systems, and access to cultural and outdoor activities and events.
The Woodland Opera House, built in the late 1800s, serves as the center for visual and performing arts, with activities and performances year-round. Woodland also hosts several community events, including the Scottish Games, the Yolo County Fair, and the Chili Cook Off. Plentiful shopping and dining, and neighborhood parks and ball fields provide opportunities for hours of leisure activities. White-water rafting and fishing on nearby Cache Creek are also popular fun for families.
Woodland's neighbor, Davis, is a university-oriented city noted for its small-town style, environmental programs, parks, bicycles, and high-quality schools. A Northern California mecca for artists, Davis features a community Art Center, more than two dozen galleries, an annual downtown Street Faire, and the restored downtown Varsity Theater performing arts and conference center. The Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts on the UC Davis campus features an intimate theater with state-of-the-art acoustics for appreciating world-class performances.
Shopping malls, international airports, and additional entertainment attractions are within easy reach. Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains are only two hours away, offering such outdoor adventures as camping, hiking, skiing, backpacking, and other activities.
