Lawrence & Memorial Hospital
Lawrence & Memorial Hospital is licensed for 280 beds and provides care to medical, surgical, pediatric, rehab, psychiatric and obstetrical patients. We have earned a reputation of one of Connecticut’s most contemporary health centers, offering the latest technology in the practice of medicine. Lawrence & Memorial Hospital is the region’s only provider of inpatient critical care rehabilitation services and neonatal intensive care, as well as being a regional leader in the comprehensive services offered through specialty units such as its cardiac catheterization laboratory; world-renowned Joslin diabetes treatment center and the region’s only comprehensive cancer facility, the Community Cancer Center.
Lawrence & Memorial has been working to enhance its clinical strength by forging alliances with well-known specialists or tertiary teaching institutions, sharing their expert physicians and other professionals on-site at Lawrence & Memorial facilities and drawing on the institutions’ experience and clinical pathways. Such clinical collaborations include, in addition to the Joslin Diabetes Center; the Yale-New Haven Health System; Rhode Island Hospital, in Providence; and the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford.
In addition, we provide CT scanning and magnetic resonance imaging, a highly specialized orthopedic and neurosurgery unit and a nationally recognized cardiac rehabilitation program which supports acute and step-down coronary care units for people who are at risk or who have had heart attacks.
