OTOLARYNGOLOGIST

Turn-key opportunity for a BE/BC ENT.  Currently no ENT practicing in the area with a patient base of approximately 45,000.  Part time coverage had been provided to the area through a visiting physician.  Both employed model and private practice model available (hospital willing to aid with income guarantee and start up cost assistance).

 

Excellent Resources:     A full time audiologist is on staff conducting audiograms, tympenometry, ENG, E Cogh, ABR, OAE, acoustic reflexes, hearing aids and school services.  A mobile ear lab is also available for travel.

 

Large SLP staff which conducts: on-site modified barium swallow studies, stroboscopy with laryngoscopy and the full range of voice therapy services. 

 

Newly opened sleep lab.

COMMUNITY

War Memorial Hospital is located in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.  This Upper Peninsula community is the 3rd oldest city in the United States.  With a population of 17,500, Sault Ste. Marie is an area that continues to grow and thrive.  Located just across the International Bridge is Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario with a population of 85,000.  The twin Saults offer extensive opportunities for shopping, cultural events and tremendous recreational activities.  The world famous Soo Locks are a huge summer attraction and bring thousands of tourists to the Sault every summer.  Housing is very affordable in the Sault.  Whether you are looking for something big, small, out of town, in the city or on the water, you will find something that fits your needs.

 

SCHOOLS

Sault Ste. HOSPITAL

War Memorial is a 72 bed, non-profit hospital that employs close to 750 individuals and has experienced tremendous growth over the past eight years.  The 2007 fiscal year closed with a million dollar profit.  WMH serves the Eastern Upper Peninsula and surrounding area.  A new behavioral health center opened in October of 2007.  An addition to the radiology suite was completed in October of 2008 with a fixed base MRI unit and a 64 slice CT scanner.  A 30,000 square foot therapy facility also opened in May of 2008, with an indoor pool, track and state-of-the-art equipment.  Expansion and renovation of numerous other areas is already being planned.  WMH offers services in OB/GYN, Med/Surg, Long Term Care, walk-in clinic, Oncology/Infusion, Dialysis, ER along with all lab services and radiology.  Numerous specialists visit and utilize the resources at WMH.

 

LOCATION

Sault Ste. Marie is much closer than you think!  Drive time to the major cities include:

            Detroit - 4.5 hrs, Grand Rapids - 4.5 hrs, Traverse City - 3 hrs, Green Bay - 4.5 hrs

 

RECREATION

Sault Ste. Marie and the Upper Peninsula offer tremendous recreational opportunities year round.  You won’t find a better location in the summer and fall, whether you are interested in golf, fishing, camping, hiking, biking, time at the beaches or water sports.  The Sault is within 45 minutes of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron and just 10 minutes from Lake Superior.  Winter brings even more opportunities with both downhill and cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, snowmobiling and sledding/tubing.  Whatever your interest, if you like to be outdoors, you will be satisfied.
