Responsibilities: Seeking A Qualified Psychiatrist to Provide Comprehensive on-site psychiatric services to inmates of the Georgia State prisons in accordance with company standards and Georgia Department of Corrections Standard Operating Procedures. Services include, treatment planning, consultation, on-call, staff development/education, charting/documentation, and active participation in state and health services quality improvement programs.
Qualifications: Must have current active physician license-state of Georgia, Current DEA Certificate, Board Certification or Board eligibility in psychiatry, current state driver's license (Georgia or bordering state in non-resident of Georgia). Forensic certification and/or experience preferred.
Facility: Contains a 176-bed Mental Health Unit. A 192-bed Pre-Transitional Unit is a functional part of the facility. Houses close security general population male inmates who may not be suitable for a medium security institution due to their sentence, offense or behavior.
Locations: Pelham, Georgia. Pelham is one hour from Valdosta, Ga., 4 hours from Metro Atlanta and 47 miles from Tallahassee FL.
