West Virginia University Hospitals-East (WVUH-East) is a not for profit healthcare delivery system for West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle. The system was created when two community hospitals, City Hospital in Martinsburg and Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, merged. WVUH-East is affiliated with West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, WV.
WVUH-East has a collaborative relationship with the WVU School of Medicine-Eastern Division to train physicians and other healthcare providers. The Eastern Division offers a family medicine residency program, a geriatrics fellowship program, and a PharmD program. They also offer 3rd and 4th year rural medical school options for students — enabling area physicians desirable teaching opportunities.
