No wonder Places Rated Almanac cited Oklahoma City as one of the “Best Places to Live in America”. With a population of 1.4 million people, it surprises many newcomers with the friendliness of a small town and the amenities of one of our nation’s biggest cities. The mild climate offers year-round sunshine. There's low traffic congestion and low pollution and the 2008 cost of living index is 89.2 (less than U.S. average 100).

The Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra, Ballet Oklahoma, Broadway shows and the Canterbury Choral Society are just the beginning.  Downtown Oklahoma City is going through revitalization like never before.  This revitalized metropolis with its booming economy has brought new grand urban projects, gleaming museums and sophistication.  From the 55-foot-tall glass Chihuly sculpture in the Oklahoma City Museum of Art to the fun of Bricktown and its fabulous restaurants to the exuberant parades and festivals.

Beautiful lakes, parks and some of the nation's best golf courses and tennis facilities also await the outdoor enthusiast.  Sports fans won't be disappointed with the new NBA team Oklahoma City Thunder and great college football with the University of Oklahoma Sooners.  Our professional ice hockey team, the Oklahoma City Blazers, attracts record crowds with its pulse pounding action.
