Duties:

Provides psychopharmacologic services to acutely ill and/or unstable inmates who present with an associated mental health disorder.

Conducts psychiatric evaluations of referred inmates from other Department of Prisons correctional facilities and serves as the “in-house” mental health Authority during their assigned shift.

Answers calls; writes orders; communicates with the professional medical staff, correctional leadership, and others as applicable.

Consults with Divisional “on-call” medical staff as appropriate.

Coverage Hours:  Monday-Sunday 8am until 5pm   -    Full and part-time hours available.

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited school of medicine and completion of a residency in psychiatry.

Must be residency trained and/or Board Certified in psychiatry.

Must possess a North Carolina unencumbered medical license
