Savannah Lakes Medical Center is seeking to expand its primary care physician base in McCormick County to a full-time presence. A BE/BC general internist with interest in developing an office-based practice is being sought. The practice is designated as a Rural Health Clinic. Physician should be motivated to see patients on scheduled and same-day basis, to build patient volume and to earn bonuses based on practice financial performance. Physician should be comfortable with promoting self and practice in community to build recognition. There is presently one physician and one nurse practitioner seeing patients on a clinic schedule four days per week. A new medical office building is being built that will house expanded primary care services, rotating specialty clinic’s and limited outpatient ancillary services.
McCormick, South Carolina is located in the Western Piedmont of South Carolina borders the Savannah River and 70,000-acre Lake Thurmond, the second largest man-made lake in the Southeast. Self Regional Medical Center is a 414-bed regional referral center providing a wide range of comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services. A 224-bed patient tower opened in August 2006. The hospital is also home to a 27-resident family medicine teaching program. The CCU, also a 10-bed unit, admits non-surgical myocardial infarction patients and other non-surgical cardiac patients. The CICU has 10 rooms and provides highly-skilled, quality care to adult and geriatric, preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery patients and post-coronary intervention.
