About our community…
If you love the outdoors, care about living in safe neighborhoods in a friendly town and would like to raise a family in a COMMUNITY that cares about quality education and family values, Bradford, PA, has it all!
We hold a front row seat in the Allegheny National Forest, abundant with hiking trails, beaches and scenic picnic areas. Nearby Allegany State Park offers recreation and fun for the whole family. Totally surrounded by forest, Kinzua Dam and Allegheny Reservoir rest in the heart of what many consider the largest and most popular outdoor recreation complex in the northeast U.S. Throughout the four seasons, visitors and residents
alike enjoy hunting, snowmobiling, canoeing, fishing and all the treasures of the great outdoors.
Scenic, well-maintained public and private golf courses are also plentiful and within easy driving distance. Bradford's own Pennhills Country Club, crafted by noted designer Walter J. Travis, and Pines Acres Country Club, both 18-hole beauties, are two of the area's most popular destinations for golf enthusiasts.
Voted New York’s Favorite Ski Resort by the experts, Holiday Valley in nearby Ellicottville, NY, is a short drive for big family fun. Take a day – or longer – and enjoy the charm of this world-class ski community complete with restaurants, quaint shops and galleries, great lodging and country charm.
We’re in the center of some of the best arts and entertainment in the northeast. Our close proximity to Buffalo, Erie, Toronto, Pittsburgh and Cleveland make us a great starting point for all of the arts and entertainment you enjoy, including major Broadway productions.
Locally, the community prospers in the arts through high quality programming delivered by Bradford Creative and Performing Arts Center, Bradford Little Theater and Olean Community Theatre, along with our higher education neighbors at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and
St. Bonaventure University.
Through our above mentioned higher education neighbors, non-traditional students and young people alike can learn new skills and establish careers through a range of educational opportunities from associates degrees through masters’ level programs. University life in our area also offers NCAA basketball teams at St. Bonaventure University and year-round sports via the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference at Pitt-Bradford.
A variety of educational venues await younger students, as well. Parents may select our excellent cadre of public schools or opt for one of three private educational options. Outside of academia, a plethora of community sports, recreational and cultural activities enrich young bodies and minds.
