INFECTIOUS DISEASE FACULTY POSITION
UCSF Fresno and the Central California Faculty Medical Group (CCFMG) are recruiting for an infectious disease physician at the assistant or associate professor rank to join the Infectious Diseases Division. The successful candidate should have an established record of clinical research as evidenced by publications and/or successful extramural grant funding. Special research interest in nosocomial infections, ICU infections or fungal disease is desirable but not essential. Responsibilities will include providing consultations in the inpatient setting and in clinics in a teaching setting. The successful candidate will join an established ID group with a newly approved ID fellowship and will take the lead in establishing a viable clinical research program. Applicants should be board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified or eligible in infectious diseases, have excellent clinical skills, be willing to actively participate in medical education and have interest in clinical research. The UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program has recently transitioned to a new $150 Million Regional Medical Center and initiated successful faculty practice sites. Fresno is a vibrant, growing but affordable community in the Central California Valley just a short drive from Yosemite and other national parks. Salary and faculty appointment with UCSF commensurate with experience. Interested candidates should send CV and 3 references.

CCFMGs faculty physicians and staff are united in achieving one purpose: to "Make Medical Education Happen." Our philosophy focuses on quality care, integrity of service, compassion for patients and uncompromised attention to learning. All of which is based on the foundation of accountability for our actions and enjoyment of our profession. Fulfilling our purpose allows us to have a meaningful impact on the direction of medicine in California’s Central Valley. CCFMG is based in Fresno, California, where residents enjoy a high standard of living combined with a low cost of living. The result? A quality of life uniquely Californian, yet surprisingly affordable. In June 2000 Fresno was honored with the National Civic League’s prestigious All-America City Award. Presented annually since 1949, the All-America City Award recognizes excellence in local efforts to strengthen and build better communities. Fresno also boasts superior educational facilities including an acclaimed state university campus, as well as an active arts community, limitless recreational opportunities and spectacular scenery…all made accessible by an abundance of affordable housing. While there is much to see and do in Fresno, the city is ideally located for fast, convenient getaways to the majestic Sierra (just 90 minutes away) as well as the scenic Central Coast, just an hour farther. Fresno is the only major city in the country with close proximity to three national parks, including renowned Yosemite National Park. And, paying a visit to San Francisco or Los Angeles requires only an easy morning’s drive. You’ll find Fresno close to everything…and close to perfect!
