In July 2009, the University of Arizona (UA) Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) in cooperation with the Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBI) at Arizona State University (ASU) will sponsor the TeamHealth fellowship in clinical informatics. This program is one of the first of its kind in the U.S. Upon completion of this two-year fellowship, the physician will have earned a Master's of Science (MS) in Biomedical Informatics. An application for ABMS subcertification in clinical informatics is being developed, and this program is based on the proposed training requirements in that application.
