COMMUNITY: A Community Health Center located in a large city in South Central Alaska is seeking a full time NP or PA.  Surrounded by six mountain ranges, the city has modern amenities in addition to being located in one of the most beautiful places in the country. Year round you can find adventure, recreation, seasonal festivities, sporting events and much more. A perfect location for an adventurer who enjoys outdoor activities during the day and excellent cuisine in the evening!

COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER/POSITION:   The PA or NP position is required to make the initial assessment and diagnosis of the patient's health status by performing the physical examination, obtaining the appropriate diagnostic tests and x-rays, interpreting findings, and providing routine medical care and treatment.  The employee will prescribe medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.  Develop and implement patient care plans, instructs and counsels patients, and records progress.  Employee must exercise professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment. 

 

REQUIREMENTS: Position requests licensure in the State of Alaska as either an Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant.  Previous experience with a multi-cultural group whose patient population included a homeless and indigent population is preferred.  Interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and treat patients with compassion are vital, as well as a demonstrated cultural-competency in dealing with all age groups.
