COMMUNITY: Get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and settle into this cozy community
. This health center is located in the southeast corner of Washington State. They are approximately 1 hour from the Idaho border and 30 minutes from the Oregon border.  The health center site is approximately 4 hours away from both Portland, OR and Seattle, WA. The region offers an average of 306 sunny days a year with only about 8 inches of rain. There are several parks in this community, many lining a large nearby river. Water enthusiasts can enjoy boating, waterskiing, wakeboarding, fishing and swimming. A local baseball field allows you to enjoy America’s favorite sport. To relax you can delve into the many delectable wines at the many wineries around town.

 

Education is a high priority to their community and there are excellent schools with high academic standards. They also have several higher education opportunities including Washington State University branch campus, Heritage University, Columbia Basin Community College, and City University.

 

COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER/POSITION: There are 6 Physicians, 8 PA's, 3 NP's, 3 Dentists and 1 Behavioral Health Provider on staff serving a large patient population of Spanish-speaking, low-income farm workers.The person in this position coordinates and executes within his/her scope of medical experience/expertise, medical care to participants in patient and family teaching. In addition the physician provides leadership by working cooperatively with medical staff, nursing staff and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional medical practice in the clinical setting. The Internist Physician will supervise and coordinate staff education to promote improved comprehension of your expectations and routine procedure set-up. The position requires participation and guidance of quality assurance and health promotion, disease prevention, patient education programs. The Physician will share and formulate the call schedule for after hour’s emergencies with other medical providers.

 

REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidates must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Washington. Graduation from accredited medical school with evidence of specialty training and experience is required. Experience/expertise practice specialty and board eligible/Certification highly desired. The ability to speak fluent Spanish is highly desirable. The qualified candidate must be empathetic to the needs of low-income and migrant/seasonal farm workers.
