Show Low is located in the beautiful White Mountains of Northeast Arizona, elevation 6,400 feet. How did Show Low get it's name?
Legend says that Marion Clark and Corydon E. Cooley were joint owners of a 100,000-acre ranch in 1875. Sometime later, they decided the place wasn't big enough for the both of them. To settle who moved, they played a card game called Seven Up. The partners played all night and on the last hand, Cooley needed just one point to win.
Clark
turned his cards over and said, "If you can show low, you win." Cooley cut the deck, drew an unbeatable two of clubs and retorted, "Show low it is." And that, as legend has it, was how the town was named. This legendary card game was also instrumental in naming three main roads in Show Low: Clark, Cooley, and Deuce of Clubs.

Summit Healthcare is a private, not-for-profit organization. As a regional medical center with 81 licensed beds, Summit responds to the healthcare needs of more than 90,000 permanent and seasonal residents living in a 3,000 square mile area. Our goal is to provide patients with state-of-the-art healthcare close to home. Every year we take critical steps that ensure this goal by investing millions of dollars in equipment and technology and by attracting an outstanding physician staff representing a wide variety of physician specialties. We have a new $30 million, 110,000 squre foot, 5-story patient tower. Our Medical Staff consists of 119 members (active and consulting).
We offer physicians two types of contracts: Income Guarantee and Employment. Both contracts come with relocation reimbursement. Our Employment contracts come with a variety of benefits, including health, life, medical, and dental insurance; short-term disability; long-term disability; 403b retirement; Paid Time Off (PTO) and Extended Illness (EI); and medical allowances.
