
MERCY HEALTH CENTER, is a full-service tertiary hospital in Oklahoma City with 392 beds, 2,577 co-workers, and 849 physicians on our medical staff. Mercy Health Center is the first hospital in Oklahoma and among only 3 percent of hospitals in the nation to be awarded Magnet status by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Studies have shown that Magnet-designated facilities report higher patient satisfaction rates, increased nurse retention and recruitment rates, higher rates of job satisfaction, deliver better patient outcomes, provide more nursing care at the bedside of patients, report shorter length of patient stay and lower patient mortality rates, and consistently outperform non-magnet organizations. Only 150 hospitals out of 5,000 in the nation are Magnet hospitals; among these are Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles, CA), Mayo-Rochester Hospital (Rochester, MN), The Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore, MD) and Baylor University Medical Center (Dallas, TX).
Established in 1947, Mercy Health Center serves a six-county area with a 1.04 million population and operates under the sponsorship of the Sisters of Mercy Health System, St. Louis, the second-largest not-for-profit health system in the country. Located in northwest Oklahoma City, the center includes a main hospital and five medical buildings - The Plaza, The Tower, McAuley Physician Offices, Mercy Women's Center and Mercy NeuroScience Institute as well as the nationally recognized Oklahoma Heart Hospital.
