The 603-bed Medical Center of Central Georgia (MCCG), chartered in 1895, is the second largest hospital in the state. MCCG is a premier teaching hospital and serves as the primary teaching hospital for Mercer University School of Medicine. As only Level I Trauma Center in Central Georgia, MCCG’s Emergency Center treats approximately 55,000 patients each year.
