Seeking talented physician to assist in expanding a growing inpatient/nursing home service
A dynamic and talented physician is sought to assist in expanding a growing inpatient and nursing home palliative care consultative service that is part of a premier hospitalist group in about an hour from New York City. This position is being created based on increasing demand for palliative medicine services in the area.
The successful candidate will enjoy a crucial role in developing expanding services in a major medical center, including the potential development of a future inpatient palliative unit, and assist in developing a dynamic outpatient consultative service. Additional responsibilities will include inpatient geriatric consultation and both palliative medicine and primary services to residents in two area nursing homes.
Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice required: fellowship in Geriatric Medicine and/or Palliative Medicine preferred. BC/BE in Hospice and Palliative Medicine required.

Currently, Orange Regional Medical Center has two locations, the Horton Campus in Middletown and Arden Hill Campus in Goshen. The current combined campuses have 462 beds with 4,750 employees. Now under construction and scheduled to be open in the spring of 2011 is the new state-of-the-art Orange Regional Medical Center which will offer many enhancements including a 600,000+ square foot facility and 374 licensed beds. It will be the largest hospital between the Tappan Zee Bridge and Albany.
The Orange County area has been one of the fastest growing counties in the state of N.Y. Middletown and Goshen are less than 60 miles from NYC and less than 30 miles from the Bergen County, NJ border. The area offers access to a regional transportation system including Metro North Railway, Shortline Bus, Interstate I-84, New York State Thruway (I-87), Route 17 (Future I-86) and Stewart International Airport.
