THE HOSPITAL
Havasu Regional Medical Center, located in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, is a 181-bed JCAHO-accredited acute care facility located on the Colorado River, on the northwestern border of Arizona and California, just 165 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada. The hospital has recently completed a new $35 million dollar expansion project, which includes a new dining room, kitchen, education offices, medical records, a large lab, pharmacy and more patient rooms among the additions! The hospital is certified for Medicare and JCAHO accredited. A 20-bed Transitional Care, Skilled Nursing Unit (SNF) is an active medical service component of the facility.
Havasu Regional Medical Center provides 24-hour emergency service with full-time emergency emergency physicians on duty. It is a state certified ALS Base Hospital authorizing medical direction and support or pre-hospital care providers, the fire department paramedics, and ambulance personnel. The facilily offers a full complement of patient-centered, community hospital and regional referral services in all or the major medical disciplines.
More than 100 affiliated physicians comprise the medical staff and represent a broad cross-section of specially areas.

Lake Havasu City, "America's Home of London Bridge," is a growing community of some 63,000 full-time residents. Winter visitors add another 15-20,000 seasonal residents. between October and April. Lake Havasu City serves as headquarters for watercraft manufacturers who have research and development operations in the city. EDUCATION
The Lake Havasu Unified School District consists or 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and 1 high school, with a total enrollment of over 6,000 students. An annual growth rate of 4% is projected through the year 2012. The district offers a rigorous academic program for all students, including programs for gifted, talented, special education and remedial. Lake Havasu students consistently outperform the county, state and nation in national norm reference tests. Pre-schools, private schools and charter schools are also available in Lake Havasu City.
Mojave Community College (MCC) operates a full campus in Lake Havasu City with over 2,000 students enrolled. MCC has long supported the community by offering specialized training for specific industries, including a comprehensive nursing program. In addition, an agreement between Northern Arizona University (NAU) and community colleges throughout the state give students the opprotunity to obtain a bachelor's or master's degree without leaving the area, resulting in significant savings to students.
RECREATION
Lake Havasu is a 45-mile long water recreation mecca featuring boating, fishing, water skiing and a variety of choices for relaxation. Both city and state parks offer full service marina facilities. Lake Havasu City has an impressive recreation department that maintains an outstanding indoor aquatic activities center, community center and many neighborhood parks. Organized sports are offered to all age groups throughout the year. Golfers enjoy three 18-hole championship courses or may play either of two executive courses, all of which are open to the public.
Culture and fine Arts are represenred very well by such groups as the Community Concert Association, MCC Performing Arts Series, Community Orchestra and Community Choir, Havasu Art Guild and Drury Lane Repertory Players.
