While located in the high plain desert, Artesia is only 70 miles from the Sacramento Mountains and 90 miles from the Guadalupe Mountains offering many mountain activities, especially beautiful hiking trails.  The area provides access to excellent schools, shopping, and natural recreation areas. Three large cities are located within a 3-hour drive and several medium cities within 45 minutes.

Artesia General Hospital is a 39-bed modern facility, completed in October, 2006.  The 5-bed ER has 2 trauma rooms and has an annual volume of 9,000 visits.  Local physician backup supports Surgery, Podiatry, and Primary Care.  Radiology is available weekdays with teleradiology available nights and weekends. Hospital also has CT scanner and ultrasound. 

Shifts are 12-24 hours. Currently recruiting physicians for full- and part-time positions.

Qualifications:  BC/BE in a Primary Care specialty w/ ED experience; ACLS & ATLS
