Greenwood Leflore Hospital is a 208-bed Regional Medical Center that has been providing medical services for the residents of Greenwood, Mississippi and surrounding communities for the past 102 years.   The service area population for Greenwood Leflore Hospital is 300,000.    The Hospital’s medical staff is comprised of 62 Active/Associate medical staff members, representing 20 medical specialties.    The hospital has taken great strides to make patient care more efficient as well as safer. They have added state-of- the- art “smart” beds, a new nurse paging system and a more advanced clinical information and patient monitoring system.     Greenwood Leflore Hospital has a total of 9 ICU beds and 6 Telemetry  beds.     The Emergency Room hosts 15 new treatment beds, its own X-ray Department and lab. The ER receives approximately 37,500 visits with an average of 10,314 admissions per year.

The Hospitalist Team of 8 Physicians will provide adult inpatient care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Each full time Hospitalist will provide up to 192 hours of clinical professional medical services per month.     The Hospitalist Team will attend adult medicine inpatients, from admission to discharge, and will provide, as necessary, a variety of procedures in the ICU, respond to codes, unassigned ED call and complete consultations as requested.  

Greenwood, the county seat for Leflore County,  boasts a population of a little less than 19,000 citizens.
