Chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery

The Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Dallas (UTSWMD) and Children's Medical Center (CMC) seek a Chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery at CMC/UTSWMC. Interested candidates should be a nationally  recognized  board certified Plastic Surgeon with accredited  craniofacial training and significant leadership  experience to  develop and refine the  Pediatric Plastic Surgery/Craniofacial Center at CMC and UTSWMC in order to take us to the next  level of excellence in both  the clinical and research arena .  This important position will be integrated into the CMC/UTSWMC leadership at all levels.  It is also highly desirable that the candidate have proven extensive clinical and research expertise including NIH and/or equivalent funding sources. The academic title, salary and incentives will be commensurate with the level of expertise and experience.

Children’s Medical Center is immediately adjacent to UT Southwestern Medical Center and is completely renovated and expanded 388 bed facility, with 23 operating rooms and almost 22,000 operations performed there last year.  A second hospital, Children’s Medical Center-Legacy, was opened in North Dallas last year.  Both the Dallas metropolitan area and North Texas enjoy one of the highest growth rates in pediatric population nationally.  Children's Medical Center is one of only 10 pediatric hospitals in the nation named to the 2009 Honor Roll in this year's U.S.News & World Report's "America's Best Children's Hospitals" survey.
