Inpatient call is managed by a hospitalist system at Sutter Coast Hospital, a 59-bed general acute care hospital in Crescent City, CA.   Located 25 miles south of Brookings, the hospital serves a population of approximately 43,000.  Sutter Coast Hospital is an affiliate of Sutter Health, one of the country’s leading not-for-profit health networks.  The hospital offers the resources of a multi-hospital health system with numerous specialty clinics. 

Incoming physicians must be personable, motivated, community oriented, and committed to providing first class patient care.  Board Certification or Board Eligibility is a requirement for all candidates.  100% ambulatory full time position;  inpatients covered by Sutter Coast hospitalist program; relocation package; malpractice insurance coverage; health, dental, vision, long-term disability benefits; Sutter Health retirement; 403b participation; 5 days annually for CME, with covered expenses for tuition and travel.

Brookings, Oregon and the adjacent unincorporated township of Harbor are located on the coast six miles north of the Oregon-California border on Highway 101.   The area features miles of eye-catching coastline, and many outdoor activities such as deep sea fishing, salmon and steelhead fishing on coastal rivers, kayaking, birding, camping, and hiking. 

In addition to giant, old-growth redwood forests, wild rivers, and rugged coastline, the area boasts abundant wildlife such as the many thousands of Aleutian geese that migrate from Canada every year, and herds of Roosevelt Elk.  The community is very supportive of youth sports and music programs, with public and private school options.  The area boasts a number of vibrant organizations dedicated to the promotion of the arts, culture and history of the region.
