Outpatient Clinic - Internal Medicine

PhyAmerica Government Services, Inc. is currently seeking 2 full-time Board Certified Internal Medicine Physicians to provide services for the Internal Medicine Clinic, Naval Hospital Portsmouth, VA.  Work as an independent contractor with PGS.  We offer competitive remuneration with malpractice insurance provided to include tail coverage.

Duty Hours:  Perform services from 8:00am until 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Provide a full range of Internal Medicine services (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunization prescriptions, diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).

Qualifications:

  • Hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited college, or Doctor of Osteopathy Degree (DO)
  • Possess a current, valid, unrestricted license in one of the fifty states
  • Possess Board Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine
  • Possess at least 1 year of experience as an Internal Medicine Physician within the last 2 years

Facility:

Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth occupies a 112-acre site along the Elizabeth River in downtown Portsmouth. It is located on the original site of Fort Nelson which was built in 1776 to provide harbor defense for Norfolk and Portsmouth during the Revolutionary War. In 1827, construction began on the Naval Medical Center and by July 1830 a portion of Building One was occupied. Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth has provided continuous care since that time and remains the oldest hospital in the U. S. Navy.
