ACADEMIC APPOINTMENT TO HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL

VA Boston Healthcare System is recruiting for a full-time clinician-investigator or clinician-teacher as Chief, Rheumatology Section. Based in a strongly academic Department of Medicine, the position provides many opportunities for developing and sustaining research, clinical and teaching programs. VA Boston is closely affiliated with Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine. Candidates should have well-developed educational, research and/or clinical interests in any rheumatology related field, a track record of mentoring junior investigators or fellows, and enthusiasm for the VA's health care mission. Appointment at an appropriate rank at Harvard Medical School is expected. You should be BC/BE in Rheumatology or Allergy or relevant specialty and hold an unrestricted US license (does not need to be a Massachusetts license).
VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) is comprised of three medical centers and six outpatient clinics.
VABHS serves as a national Research and Development center for medical research and is a major tertiary care center for the VA New England Healthcare System. Academic affiliations include Harvard Medical School, Boston University School of Medicine, University of Massachusetts Medical School and Tufts University School of Medicine. As a teaching facility, the VA Boston Healthcare System provides a full range of services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research, offering specialized training to over 1,100 Residents and fellows, 250 medical students, and 400 students in various other areas of clinical practice including psychology, optometry, pharmacy, etc. Additionally, VABHS has affiliations with 7 major medical facilities in the greater Boston area.
