Located in the Beautiful Finger Lakes Region of Western NY

The incumbent is assigned to the Behavioral VA Health Care Line.  The incumbent’s primary assignment is with the Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Program (DRRTP) within the Behavioral Health Care Line clinic that provides a diverse and complex range of treatment to veterans with psychiatric disorders.  The incumbent is responsible for the integration of primary care by working closely with the primary care teams and provides consultations throughout the hospital, domiciliary, nursing home care units, and community-based programs.  The incumbent is responsible for monitoring clinical response to treatment and adjusts level of care as necessary.  Various other functions include but are not limited to counseling, psychotherapy, using individual, group, couples, and/or family approaches as dictated by the patient’s need.  The DRRTP Psychiatrist plays a significant role in the patient-centered interdisciplinary treatment planning process.  He/she serves as a member of a continuous care team and provides coverage during the absence of the other psychiatrists.
