Rheumatic Diseases Division Physician-Scientist

The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatic Diseases invites applications for Physician-Scientists.  Openings are available at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor level based on qualifications.  Candidates are expected to have at least 4 years of experience at the fellow and/or Instructor level, and are expected to have or establish an externally-funded research program related to the pathophysiology or treatment of rheumatic diseases.   Candidates must have an MD/DO or MD/DO Ph.D. degree, or equivalent, from an approved LCME medical school and satisfactory completion of an Internal Medicine residency program from an ACGME accredited program.  Level of appointment will be commensurate with experience.  Must be eligible for Texas medical licensure and be board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified/eligible in Rheumatology.  The position will provide opportunities for diverse research experiences in a highly supportive environment with potential for growth. Training and supervision of graduate and postgraduate trainees will be required. The position offers an attractive start-up package that includes adequate research space and access to state-of-the art core facilities.
