Located near downtown San Antonio, Metropolitan Methodist Hospital is a 278-bed acute care facility, providing a complete range of health care services to San Antonio and the many neighborhoods and businesses that border its centralized location. Metropolitan Methodist Hospital offers excellent mother and baby care, general medical and surgical care, specialized orthopedic surgery and care, oncology care, behavioral medicine, neurosurgery, heart services, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, sleep disorders evaluation and a 24-hour emergency department.
The hospital was among the nation’s first hospitals to utilize a centralized robotic drug distribution system that automates the storage, retrieval, and dispensing of bar-coded medications.
The Metropolitan Methodist Women’s Pavilion, a 50,000 square foot building, was constructed in 2005 as part of a $50 million expansion project. The Pavilion is the only stand-alone hospital facility in the downtown area specializing in women’s health care.
There are two medical office buildings close to the facility; both have walkways connecting them to Metropolitan Methodist Hospital.
