POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, ensure the provision of effective quality medical service to the patients of the health center.  Responsible for assuring clinical procedures are continually and systematically followed, patient flow is enhanced, and customer service is extended to all patients at all times.  Serve as a physician and participate in hospital duties and after hour calls.  Responsible for assuring the highest standard of medical care and compliance with all regulatory and professional guidelines. 
 
Provide clinical leadership and supervision for designated clinicians. Additional administrative time allocated to this position is based upon the medical personnel supervised. Additional time will be allotted when necessary for travel and other approved activities as needed. The additional administrative time will be subtracted from the productivity base requirements to have a neutral effect on productivity incentives.
 
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
¦    Graduate of an accredited medical school program.
¦    Hold an unrestricted Arizona medical license
¦    Completion of an accredited Family Practice Residency program or other primary care program.  Board certified in family practice, pediatrics and/or internal medicine or other primary care specialty.
¦    Completion of annual CME requirements
¦    Current CPR, ACLS
¦    Three years experience in a primary care medical center; with a minimum of twoyears experience in managing health care delivery, directing clinical systems, coordinating patient flow, and clinic-based supervision. 
¦    Demonstrated ability to provide leadership.
¦    Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems, managed care systems and customer satisfaction    evaluation and improvement.  
¦    Experience and demonstrated ability in managing provider performance, mid-level practitioners and support staff, developing and monitoring quality assurance programs, representing both administrative and medical interests. Ability to resolve conflicts, negotiate solutions, facilitate consensus.
¦    Knowledge of community health centers, public health services, public assistance programs (ADHS, family planning and AHCCCS), state and federal regulations and the structure of health care systems. 
¦    Ability to train and develop staff and interface with all levels of personnel in a professional manner
¦    Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and strategic planning skills.  Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, function in a rapidly changing environment, and accomplish   organizational goals.  Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be proactive.       
¦    Intermediate computer efficiency, experience with Patient Management Systems, and ability to work with the electronic health record 
¦    ValidAZ driver’s license 
¦    Ability to work with people of all social and ethnic backgrounds and communicate with the community to give the health center visibility and credibility
           
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
¦    Bilingual (Spanish / English) preferred but not essential
¦    Prior clinical experience in a CHC, VA, IHS or similar facility

North Country Show Low is our newest clinic opening in July 2009.  North Country in Show Low will become a integral part of health care in the White Mountain region. 

Our clinic is currently staffed with an ANP and a FNP.  We are seeking a well qualified Family Practice physician with a heart to serve our patient population which consists mainly of Medicaid, Medicare and patients with no insurance. 

No OB, call is evening phone call coverage 1 in 10 weeks, outpatient only, FTCA medical malpractice included, Monday thru Friday 8-5pm.  4 x 10 hours shifts are possible as well as less than full time.

We are a growing, fast-paced, non-profit community health center with a mission to provide accessible, affordable, comprehensible quality primary health care in an atmosphere of respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity.  North Country is a freestanding delivery model through which comprehensive, preventive primary care, dental care, outreach programs, and training/education services are offered across the life cycle of all people of Northern Arizona. The health and well being of patients and community alike are promoted through direct services, training/education, outreach, and advocacy. NCHC is a 501© three (3) facility with 11 clinics, 55 professional providers and 295 employees. Our combined facilities received 112,000 patient visits across northern Arizona in FY 2008-09. The payer mix is 20% sliding fee scale; 14% Medicare; 36% AHCCCS/Medicaid; 30% Private Insurance; 50% White; 26% Hispanic; 8% American Indian & 3% Black.
