Calais Regional Hospital, a 25-bed critical access hospital built in 2006 is seeking an Internist for a full time position in its employed practice. Located in the eastern most county of Maine, Calais is a beautiful small coastal community bordering St. Stephens, New Brunswick, Canada. Calais Regional Medical Services is a small multi-specialty practice located on the hospital campus. You will share call with five Internists. This is a full scope of practice with both office and inpatient responsibilities. There is a generous compensation and benefits package, with 5 weeks vacation, holiday and sick time, and paid CME. You relocation expenses are paid, malpractice insurance, family health insurance, life and short term disability insurance.
Calais Regional Hospital currently has 15 acute care beds and 10 swing beds, in addition to a 24-hour physician staffed emergency department. It continues to serve Northeastern Washington County with an approximate population of 14,000. The hospital employees 200, with a 15 member active medical staff. The hospital offers general and orthopedic surgery, OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, Family Practice and Pediatrics. In addition there are a variety of specialty clinics, PT,OT and aquatics therapy, home health nurses, diabetes management, and a full array of radiologic imaging and ultrasound services.
