Augusta Health, Inc. (AH), an independent, not-for-profit, rural community health system, located in Augusta County, Virginia in the heart of the scenic and historic Shenandoah Valley.

Since opening in 1994, AMC has received national distinction having been designated as a Solucient 100 Top Hospital twice, 100 Top Regional hospital once, U.S. News and World Report’s America’s Best Hospitals three times, and has received the HealthGrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence the last 4 out of 5 years, which places AMC in the top 5% of all hospitals in the country.  AHC/AMC is financially prosperous as evidenced by its Moody’s A1 rating, being one of only two hospitals its size in the nation to hold that level of credit worthiness.

The medical center offers an impressive array of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services. In addition to the traditional Inpatient units, AMC also has an inpatient rehabilitation unit, a 29 bed skilled nursing unit and a 20 bed psychiatric unit. The Augusta Medical Center Emergency Department sees nearly 60,000 visits each year.  AMC provides a full range of outpatient services, including both medical and radiation oncology cancer treatment, diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular services, a pain management center, a behavioral health center, a Nursing Treatment Center, and a sleep lab facility.

The Shenandoah Valley is known for its friendly people and communities where business, industry and technology flourish. The superior quality of life includes attractive and affordable real estate, an excellent education system that includes both private and public school systems, superb dining and shopping, as well as cultural and recreational amenities.

Warm summers and mild winters make for comfortable year-round living in the Shenandoah Valley. With its rolling green pastures, historic farmsteads and forested mountains, few areas can match the Shenandoah Valley in terms of scenic beauty.  Access to a superior network of highways provides the ability to reach a wide variety of locations in a fairly short time, including convenient proximity to Charlottesville, Richmond, historic Williamsburg, the Washington DC metropolitan area and Virginia Beach.
