The Hospital
Rockingham Memorial Hospital is an independent, not-for-profit community hospital that provides advanced medical care and leading-edge
since 1912, RMH has 270 beds and serves a seven-county area with a population of nearly 200,000. Services provided at RMH in 2008 included totals of 15,915 inpatient admissions, 1,713 babies delivered, 18,985 surgical patients, 15,361 cancer treatments and 72,030 emergency department visits. RMH is in the process of relocating to a new 254-acre site on the edge of town (to be complete by mid 2010). This state-of-the-art facility will give RMH the opportunity to provide a second century of service to the community.
For the fifth year in a row (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009), RMH has received the HealthGrades® Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence, placing us in the top five percent of all hospitals in the nation. RMH is one of only 84 hospitals to receive this distinction for 5 consecutive years.
