We are currently seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Anesthesiologist to join an expanding clinical, education, and research faculty.
The Anesthesiology Department prides itself on providing outstanding patient care, a rigorous curriculum for graduate medical education, and one of the best environments to learn in. We have a busy academic practice with approximately 13,000 surgical cases per year, over 2,500 OB deliveries, and a daily census at our teaching hospital (University Medical Center) of 325. The catchment area is approximately 500,000 to 1,000,000 throughout West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. We are also home to The International Pain Center, one of the premier pain management programs in the country.
The department offers a residency training program that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Each resident rotates on subspecialty services including surgical critical care, cardiothoracic, obstetrical, pain management, pediatric, regional and neuro-anesthesia. TTUHSC is a Level 1 trauma and burn center which affords our residents the opportunity to manage a wide range of different case scenarios. Resident’s clinical experiences are enhanced by the use of multi-disciplinary high fidelity simulation. Texas Tech’s new state-of-the-art simulation center is planned to be finished in 2010.
Academic rank is commensurate with experience and credentials. A very competitive compensation package is available for qualified candidates including base salary, CME/Professional Development pay/leave, malpractice paid, medical insurance paid, state holidays, vacation and sick leave, and a generous state retirement package.
