CHIEF, GERIATRIC AND EXTENDED CARE SERVICE
The Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Dayton, Ohio, is currently recruiting for a Chief of the Geriatric and Extended Care Service. The Chief will have both clinical and administrative responsibilities in the facility. The major roles will be to manage clinical and administrative activities, including supervision of provider staff associated with the Community Living Center (Nursing Home Care Units), Outpatient Geriatric Evaluation and Management Clinic, Rehab and Skilled Care Units, Hospice and Palliative Care Unit.
The city of Dayton, known as the birthplace of flight, is located in the beautiful rolling hills of Southwestern Ohio, and located within an hour drive of two major metropolitan areas. The metropolitan area has five universities, affordable real estate, excellent school systems, museums, theaters, and other seasonal recreational opportunities, and is the home of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Applicants must be board certified in Geriatric Medicine. The successful candidate will be eligible for an institutional appointment in the Department of Geriatrics at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and will be expected to work closely with the Fellowship Director in the Department of Geriatrics to coordinate the training of two fellows each year and with other members of the Department of Geriatrics to develop geriatrics-focused research activities at the VAMC. Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine is desirable.
The salary range is $ 170,000 to 210,000 based on training and experience. Recruitment incentives and moving expenses may be available depending on individual situations and to the extent allowable by VA policy. Annual Performance Pay enhancements are also available and are negotiable.
