VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (VAGCVHCS) is recruiting full time subspecialists and internists.
• BE/BC Intensivist
• BE/BC Cardiologist
• BE/BC Neurologist/Pain Management
• Internal Medicine Hospitalist
• Experienced in critical care medicine
The VAGCVHCS includes the Gulf of Mexico’s magnificent coast line that crosses Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida panhandle. It consists of one of the premier Medical Centers in the entire VA inventory as well as four community based outpatient clinics. The entire system serves over 55,000 veterans and 100,000 active duty service members. The Medical Service includes a 24/7 level 3 Emergency Department that manages over 12,000 visitors annually, a 10 bed ICU and, 35 bed medical/surgical unit. Subspecialty services include inpatient consultation and outreach to clinics from Biloxi MS. to Panama City FL.
Academic appointments may be available with Tulane University and/or the University of Southern Alabama depending on research, teaching interest and experience. Program collaborations with various Gulf Coast military bases are growing rapidly and an active interventional cardiology arrangement exists with the nearby Air Force base.
From Gulfport/Biloxi, to either New Orleans or Mobile is only one hour’s drive. Summers are sunny and carefree and winters are tropical. Outdoor and water activities abound with diverse cultural interests, rich coastal heritage, and safe opportunities for raising a family or planning retirement.
