Keokuk Area Hospital is a 63-bed, community based, short-term, acute care facility. The Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare organizations. We are a nonprofit organization and have more than 450 employees. Keokuk Area Hospital has grown in sophistication and scope of service, and in 2009 cared for more than 3,300 inpatients; performed 1,933 surgical procedures; 28,964 radiology procedures and 169,718 laboratory tests; and is caring for growing numbers of emergency room patients, home care and industrial medicine clients.

Keokuk Health Systems has a remarkably comprehensive medical campus that surrounds Keokuk Area Hospital. The campus includes KAME, a full service retail pharmacy and medical equipment provider. Southeastern Renal Dialysis and numerous physician and dental offices complete the campus.

The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. It is a not-for-profit organization with over 450 employees and nearly 40 physicians offering specialties in a variety of areas, including radiology, pediatrics, anesthesiology, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine and more.
Keokuk Area Hospital also has an array of specialized services. A completely renovated obstetrics unit includes all private labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum (LDRP) suites that help the new family bond with their special arrival in a home-like setting. KAH also offers a comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation unit. This unit is helping people recover from major illnesses and injuries at levels higher than the national average.
Medical care in Keokuk extends well beyond the walls of the community’s hospital. Keokuk Area Hospital operates a Home Health Care Program that allows recovering patients to receive care from trained professionals in the comfort of their own homes. The addition of telemonitoring services has allowed even more patients to stay home through its simple non-invasive ability to monitor vital signs daily.
