Our Facility
St. Rita's Medical Center, with a total of 437 registered beds, is the largest of two hospitals in Lima. A recently completed nine story patient tower has added approximately 85 state-of-the-art private rooms to the facility, will bring the total number to approximately 500 (remodeling of the "old" units is presently occurring). The Medical Center recently completed expansion of the Heart Center including a 16-bed Interventional Unit. Four medical office buildings as well as an additional wing to the hospital expanding surgical suites and radiology services have also recently been completed. Radiology services include many state-of-the-art amenities such as PET, a 3Tesla MRI,1.5 MRI, 64 Slice CT Scanners, and a Radiation Oncology Cancer Center. St. Rita's is accredited with commendation by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, which is the highest level of accreditation awarded by the JCAHO. The Community Hospital Cancer Program is accredited by the ACOS. All medical specialties are represented including open heart and neurosurgery. St. Rita's is a Level II Trauma Center and has a Level II Nursery. St. Rita's is the largest employer in Allen County with approximately 3100 employees.
Our Community
The friendly, west-central Ohio Community of Lima has a metropolitan population of approximately 43,000 and a secondary medical service area of approximately 500,000 in a ten county area. Lima enjoys easy access to four major metropolitan areas within a seventy mile radius in Ohio and Indiana. The region's economic base is primarily retail sales, agriculture, and various manufacturing presentations. Lima has a solid educational system consisting of public, private, and parochial schools, easy access to many institutions of higher learning, affordable housing (named #1 affordable housing in the nation), and a low crime rate, making it a great place to raise a family. We offer various cultural and recreational activities including a very active symphony. The area enjoys little very little managed care activity making it a great place for physicians to practice any specialty.
