The Wisconsin Office of Rural Health (WORH) was established in 1975, within the University of Wisconsin Medical School, to address shortages of health services in rural areas.As the WORH evolved, it developed a strong health professional recruitment program and worked with many programs at the federal and state levels to bring health care services to underserved areas.
