Searcy, Arkansas

Searcy is situated near the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, on the banks of the crystal clear Little Red River. With a location 45 miles north of Little Rock and 100 miles west of Memphis, Searcy provides quick access to the benefits of these cities but offers the retreat of a suburban lifestyle.  Searcy is surrounded by rivers, lakes, mountains, and forests, which allow for a host of recreational and outdoor activities. With award-winning public and private educational institutions and a diverse industrial and commercial sector, Searcy is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. Searcy is home to Harding University which is  a private liberal arts and sciences university. Arkansas State University also has a technical campus located in Searcy. White County Medical Center has a combined total of 438 licensed beds. The main campus is a 245 bed acute care facility and the South Campus is a 193 bed sub-acute care facility. The hospital offers comprehensive healthcare and has state of the art equipment including Open MRI, and a 64-slice CT with cardiac imaging. The hospital is well equipped for cardiac care with two cath labs and an open heart surgery program. The medical staff consists of over 150 referring and admitting physicians. White County Medical Center is the second largest employer in Searcy with over 1350 associates. The hospital serves a six-county area with a population draw of approximately 200,000. White County Medical Center has received two Governor's Work-Life Balance Awards which recognizes Arkansas employers who support employees in balancing the needs of life and family.
