The city of Sierra Vista is home to 50,000 residents and is the main commercial, cultural and recreational hub of Cochise County. We enjoy a moderate climate. At an elevation of 4,653 feet, we do get an occasional snowfall; the winter temperature will generally range form a low in the mid - 30's in the morning to the 50s during the day. Summer temperatures range from overnight lows in the 60s to highs in the mid - 90s during the day. Our average rainfall is approximately 15 inches.

Abundant sunshine, clean air, temperate climate and the surrounding beauty of the Huachuca Mountains, Ramsey Canyon and the San Pedro River have led to our growth and our rating as "One of the Top 100 Places to Retire in the US".

While most of our staff resides right in Sierra Vista, many also reside in the communities of Huachuca City, Benson, Douglas, Nogales and Tucson. And, don't forget the mining towns of Bisbee and Tombstone, the "Town to tough to Die".

Sierra Vista is the "hummingbird capital of America"; abundant opportunities for bird watching, hiking, biking, camping and other outdoor activities all year round. The City is building a multi-use path system, which will allow cyclists, walkers & runners easy access around the entire city.
