North Country's Flagstaff clinic is our home office with centralized billing, administration, human resources and finance departments. We support all of our satellite clinics from this our main and largest office. Our 36,000' facility offer comprehensive healthcare to include all of our outreach programs and over 25 medical providers.
We are a growing, fast-paced, non-profit community health center with a mission to provide accessible, affordable, comprehensible quality primary health care in an atmosphere of respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity. North Country is a freestanding delivery model through which comprehensive, preventive primary care, dental care, outreach programs, and training/education services are offered across the life cycle of all people of Northern Arizona. The health and well being of patients and community alike are promoted through direct services, training/education, outreach, and advocacy. NCHC is a 501© three (3) facility with 10 clinics, 55 professional providers and 275 employees. Our combined facilities received 103,000 patient visits across northern Arizona in FY 2007-08. The payer mix is 20% sliding fee scale; 14% Medicare; 36% AHCCCS/Medicaid; 30% Private Insurance; 50% White; 26% Hispanic; 8% American Indian & 3% Black.
Surrounded by natural wonders like the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff offers dozens of inns, a multitude of hotel and motel accommodations, conference and meeting venues, more than 200 restaurants, numerous night spots, and a variety of cultural, historic and scientific attractions. Visitors from all over the world are attracted to our clean mountain air, year-round outdoor recreation opportunities, historic downtown charm and our Western legacy of pioneer ranchers, railroad builders and lumbermen.
Some of the West's most beautiful country surrounds Flagstaff — from the alpine forests of our San Francisco Peaks (12,633 feet; 3,851 meters) to the rugged deserts of neighboring Native American nations. The Grand Canyon, Sunset Crater Volcano and Meteor Crater are all within easy driving distance, as are many archaeological treasures.
