The Hospital

Parkland Medical Center is an 86-bed regional acute care hospital located in Derry, New Hampshire.  The hospital offers an impressive array of technology and services for a community hospital its size, eliminating the need to travel to Boston, Massachusetts or other larger metropolitan areas.  Diagnostic capabilities and services in many instances rival those found in larger tertiary facilities.  Twice Parkland has been the recipient of Solucient’s "Top 100 Hospital Benchmarks for Success" Award, a distinction given to hospitals demonstrating superior performance across quality, operational and financial indicators.  Patient safety has also earned the hospital national recognition from the Institute of Safe Medication Practices and patient satisfaction scores in recent years are among the highest of all hospitals surveyed by Gallup across the nation.

The Area

Derry is conveniently located 40 miles north of Boston, 45 minutes from the New Hampshire Seacoast, 60 miles south of the White Mountains and within a few hours of 12 major ski resorts. With its sense of history, fine schools, industrial parks and diverse shopping opportunities, Derry has become one of the states most attractive communities in which to live or invest. As a tax-free state, New Hampshire does not have a general sales tax or an income tax on an individual’s reported W-2 wages. Derry offers multiple public and private elementary and secondary schools with excellent student to teacher ratios. Many colleges, technical schools and universities are also located within a 35-mile radius.
