Headquartered in Knoxville, TN, Covenant Health is the third largest employer in the metropolitan area. Covenant Health includes six acute care hospitals in East Tennessee: Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center and Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, Fort Loudoun Medical Center in Loudon, Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center in Sevierville and Roane Medical Center in Roane County.

In addition to the hospitals Covenant Health's primary member organizations include the Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center, Thompson Cancer Survival Center, Thompson Cancer Survival Center at Methodist, Peninsula (a division of Parkwest Medical Center), Fortress Corporation, Fort Sanders West Diagnostic Center, Fort Sanders West Outpatient Surgery Center, Nanny's Nursery, Fort Sanders Health and Fitness Center, Covenant Medical Management and Covenant HomeCare.

Covenant Health leads in market share in cardiac, neuro-spine, orthopedic, obstetric, oncology, gynecological and surgical admissions, outpatient procedures, emergency visits, and many other treatment areas and service lines. The Covenant Health hospitals and other facilities have been first in the area and sometimes first in the world to pioneer new patient care treatments and technologies.

All of the more than 8,000 Covenant Health employees share our physicians' commitment to the highest quality of care. The accolades and ratings our system and its individual facilities have received indicate that we've achieved that goal. We constantly strive to improve on clinical quality that is already unquestionably excellent.

Choosing where to live and practice is one of the most important decisions a physician ever makes. The quality of life in East Tennessee, the beauty of the area, the financial advantages of practicing here, access to all the resources needed to provide outstanding patient care, and the strengths of the Covenant Health system may help make that decision easy.

Physicians beginning or relocating their practices to Covenant Health enjoy almost universal success. One important reason is the unequalled access to patients that our system provides and the networking opportunities available within the Covenant Health system help physicians who locate here build their practices very quickly.

Whether you're single, part of a family, or an empty-nester couple, you'll be welcomed into the community. And no matter if you choose the urban excitement of a loft in Knoxville's revitalized downtown, a golf course or waterfront home, a place in one of out many well-tended suburbs, a farm or the solitude of a mountain retreat, you'll find this a wonderful place to live.

There is no income tax in Tennessee, and property taxes are very reasonable. The cost of housing is 21% below the national average and housing quality and choices are outstanding. Physicians here live in urban lofts, lakeside homes, townhouses, luxury log cabins, golf-course homes, suburban neighborhoods, planned communities and, occasionally, on their boats.

Schools are excellent. The school systems in most areas in which Covenant Health facilities are located have achievement scores above state averages. There are also dozens of private schools from pre-school Montessori to outstanding K-12 college preparatory schools with 100% college admission rates. The area has four community colleges and ten four-year institutions.
