The Department of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee is actively seeking a third Transplant Hepatologist to join our successful Transplant Institute. The Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute has a nationally recognized liver transplant program. The Transplant Institute has a wide referral base and performs about 100 liver transplants per year. Transplant Hepatologists are University of Tennessee faculty (tenure or non-tenure track) within the academic Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine.
Transplant Institute
The Transplant Institute at Methodist University Hospital, staffed by UT Medical Group physicians, specializes in transplants of the kidney, liver, and pancreas. Since 1968, the program has performed over 1,800 kidney transplants with a five-year survival rate of over 90%. Since 1982, over 400 liver transplants have been performed with a success rate of 80% after three years. In addition, simultaneous kidney-pancreas transplants have been performed here since 1989.
