Mercy Medical Clinics, part of Mercy Health System of Northwest Arkansas, consists of 22 medical clinics which admit to Mercy Medical Center, a faith-based, 200-bed, not-for-profit Catholic organization servicing a growing population of over 550,000. This facility just opened March 2008!
In addition, construction is also complete on the new Mercy Physicians Plaza located on the medical campus. The new facility (Mercy Medical Center) began using the EPIC software system which will allow access to patient information with the same chart for inpatient and outpatient services. EPIC's electronic medical records provides Computerized Physician Order Entry (COPE) and improves both patient safety & patient outcomes.
Economically, the area was ranked #1, "The Best Performing Region in America", by the Milken Institute. Over a decade of unprecedented growth and economic prosperity has made Northwest Arkansas a nationally recognized economic success. Wal-Mart, the world’s largest company with revenues of over $280 billion, is based here and already 1000+ companies with ties to Wal-Mart have established offices in the area.
The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and the beloved UA Razorback Football team, is just 20 miles away and offers more than 150 fields of study with an enrollment of over 15,000 students. The George Lucas Foundation recognized the Rogers school system as a national leader in technology. Northwest Arkansas Community College serves more than 4,000 students and has an expanding workforce development program for working adults.
